Of that footprint, roughly 12,000 square feet is enclosed space; the rest is courtyard, pool deck, and court surface.

Rancho Mission Viejo's own marketing calls it the "crown jewel" of the 55-plus program, a phrase VP of Marketing Stephanie Walker used when describing why this club, out of everything already built on The Ranch, got that label. Scale is the honest reason. Nothing else built for the 55-plus villages comes close to this footprint in one location.

The number that isn't just for Gavilán residents

Here's the detail that got buried under the ribbon-cutting coverage. Before this summer, The Ranch had 12 all-age pickleball courts open community-wide, four at Sendero Field and eight at North Plunge. The Club at Gavilán Ridge added eight more. That's 20 courts total across the community, a jump of roughly two-thirds in a matter of months.

The eight new courts sit inside a 55-plus village, but they are explicitly all-age, meaning anyone living on The Ranch can show up and play, not just Gavilán homeowners.
